Workshop for Well-being at MSU
The MSU Graduate School and Compassion Project are offering three, 2-hour workshops to support graduate student well-being through art, mindfulness, and community-building. Attend one session or multiple.
Workshops are led by trained Compassion Project volunteers that are also in the Graduate Mental Health Counseling Program. As fellow students juggling work, school, families, and their broader lives, they understand the challenges graduate students face and are excited to connect with their fellow Bobcats.
Compassion is a skill and practice that increases resilience, boosts well-being, helps us navigate conflict, and strengthens relationships. Guests can expect to be led in a group mindfulness practice, creative art activity, and small-group discussion.
We hope guests take away strategies for filling their compassion bucket, connection with others in similar circumstances, and a deepened commitment to resourcing themselves and others in sustainable ways to enact long-term positive change. All graduate students are welcome - we hope you join us!

Volunteer Training
Compassion is an important skill for everyone, but especially educators, mentors, parents, care workers, and managers. We love working with catalysts of positive change to maximize our collective impact.
In these 2-hour sessions we move through a pattern of experiencing an activity and then applying the lessons we've learned. We cover:
Why compassion is important
Overcoming barriers to compassion
Making compassion relevant to your work and daily life
Incorporating mindfulness
Leading accessible art activities for the therapeutic benefits
Sparking compassionate reflection and storytelling
Attendees are welcome to volunteer with our organization or take what they learned back to their workplace, school, community, or organization.
Educators can receive two renewal units per event.
LGBTQ+ Allyship Workshop
For those looking to be a better ally to a friend, family member, co-worker or community member, join Bridgercare and the Compassion Project for an LGBTQ+ Allyship workshop.
This training was created in partnership with allies of local LGBTQ+ communities and their families.
We will discuss how to support the people you love by learning common vocabulary, deepening our understanding of pronouns and how to use them respectfully, and how to correct ourselves when we make mistakes.
We will get grounded together through a mindfulness activity at the beginning of the workshop and close out this fun-filled evening with a group art project.
Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP.
Compassion For Caregivers

Fill your compassion bucket with other big-hearted humans and explore the balance between self-care and collective-care. To transform systems, we must resource ourselves and our communities for the long-haul.
Each session is unique and designed to be attended multiple times - compassion is a practice and we’re all learning together.
Educators can receive two renewal units per event.
